Many Thanks

Fiona Duff has asked me to pass these few words onto Portaferry GAC
"After being home a couple of weeks I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all your support over the last few months. I made it to Mizen Head and believe it or not have remained closely attached to my bike since. It was a rollercoaster of a week and Mother Nature threw everything at us apart from snow but sure that made it an even bigger achievement.

When I first set out my target was to raise £1,500. I have been overwhelmed and amazed at everyone’s generosity and that target has been smashed, it's currently at £4,682 and I’m still receiving donations. Thank you to everyone who donated money supported my events and sent messages of support which kept me motivated in the run up to and during Malin to Mizen week.
I was so lucky to have Mum & Dad come down to Cork for the last day and my Dad joined us for the final leg of the cycle.

... To give you an idea of the impact that an event like this has, as a group of 60 riders we have collectively raised over £126,000 - this equates to employing 6 full time Marie Curie nurses for the next 12 months.

I met some super people during the week, all who had their own reasons for taking part in the challenge. The craic was 90 and the support that everyone gave each other was brilliant. To anyone who has ever considered doing something similar, I would say, yes, go for it, you will never regret it!!......I, on the other hand might just go somewhere a bit warmer :) "

Well done Fiona. The club would llike to congratulate you and well done on finishing this tough challenge. I can't say you have convinced me to do it next year lol.  You have done a fantastic job for charity and raised and overwhelming amount which is going to a brilliant and worthwhile charity. Now get yourself fit and back to camogie ;)
